Welcome to Modern Languages
Welcome to Modern Languages
Our aim is to create a fun and dynamic learning environment in which learners develop a passion for language learning, deepen their cultural awareness and learn to be truly global citizens. With a strong emphasis on building pupil confidence in all four skills, learners are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities and develop a lifelong curiosity and passion for languages.
Acquisition of a foreign language brings many benefits, most notably development of a wide range of transferrable skills, including developing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Furthermore, proficiency in one language makes acquisition of further languages easier. We believe in the value of language-learning for all and so aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment which nurtures the strengths and needs of all learners.
In order to bring languages to life, we seek to enhance the languages provision through a range of experiences such a trips, visiting speakers and events. Through learning about the culture and traditions of other countries, learners also develop an understanding and appreciation of other cultures and traditions. A knowledge of foreign languages is a huge advantage in the work of work, with employers increasingly seeking candidates with language skills and cultural awareness.
